The captions above take on two meanings – green with an environmental benefit and green with a financial benefit. Both are equally important and play a role in Hybrid Light’s fundraising program for schools.

We know that our schools are in need of funding for many areas including green building, equipment and extra curricular activities. We also know that adopting a more sustainable lifestyle would come easier for some if they were encouraged to take the first small step in that direction. With Hybrid Light fundraising, both can be accomplished – and in the process, your community is better equipped for emergencies as well.

Hybrid Solar Light is an environmentally friendly, super bright, solar powered flashlight. It stores its power from the sun for over 3 years (or incandescent light) for later use, so it does not need to be left in the sun but can be stored anywhere. Keep it in a backpack, emergency kit, car or nightstand – it is always ready. In the event the solar power is discharged, the back up battery with a 7 year shelf life can provide light until you can recharge the solar power once again. It is waterproof to depths of 80’ and it floats. Because it is solar powered, it will contribute to a cleaner environment and decrease battery consumption and pollution. This is “Green for Your Community”.

Our program is simple and risk free – we suggest an order be placed for 10 lights per student. We require no payment up front, you only pay for what you sell, and we cover shipping costs. Solar Lite is sold for $20.00 (retail is $20-$25.00) and the school keeps $10.00. Each student that sells just 10 lights earns $100.00 for the school. A school with 1,000 students can earn $100,000.00 in one week! We simply pick up what is not sold and cover return shipping as well. This can be done by an individual school or an entire district. For example, Los Angeles Unified School District has 694,428 students enrolled. LAUSD would earn roughly $69.5 million with this program. The State of California would stand to earn $630 million for its 6.3 million K-12 students. This program can be run more than once a year as well, targeting Christmas and Father’s Day (for year round tracks) for example. This is “Green for Your School”.

Students selling just 10 lights can earn their own Hybrid Solar Light with this program. Students living and learning a more sustainable lifestyle themselves provides “Green for Your Future”.
